A two-day working meeting of rescuers and GIZ representatives in Ukraine took place in Donetsk oblast

The working meetings took place in Donetsk oblast under the project “Support to state and municipal emergency management in Eastern Ukraine” with the participation of representatives of the German Society for International Cooperation Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and the Deputy Director of the Department - Head of the division of special equipment and special vehicles of the Department of resource support of the SES of Ukraine Oleksandr Vaskovskyi.

So, on May 25, together with temporarily acting Head of the Main Department Viacheslav Boitsov our partners got acquainted with the work of the Security Centers for Citizens in the settlements of Cherkaske, Andriiivka, Novodonetsk, which joined the project in 2020. They inspected the working conditions, equipment and technique for choosing the community that will be provided with advisory and logistical assistance under the project. Viacheslav Boitsov noted: “The creation of local fire and rescue units at the Security Centers for Citizens will ensure the protection of life and health of their residents, buildings and territories by the rapid arrival of units to the emergency sites”.

On May 26, the delegation together with Deputy Head of the Main Department Volodymyr Zakharchuk got acquainted with special vehicles purchased under the project with the support of the German government, as well as other specialized vehicles which the Emergency Rescue Unit of Special Appointment has been equipped   to respond effectively and quickly to emergencies. Then colleagues got acquainted with the specifics of work and equipment of the Training Center on the basis of the Emergency Rescue Unit of Special Appointment. They personally got acquainted with the future instructors, with whom during 2020-2021 online training sessions were held with the involvement of representatives of other project partners. In conclusion, GIZ representatives in Ukraine answered the questions of the personnel and assured of further cooperation and interaction with the Rescue Service.
