On May 26, the SES of Ukraine began a two-day table top exercise under the PPRD East III program. The purpose of the exercises is to strengthen the response to emergencies and to deepen the cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union in this area.
Opening the event, Volodymyr Demchuk, Director of the SES Emergency Response Department, noted that in the context of Ukraine's integration into the European Union, holding such joint exercises is an extremely important component that allows to demonstrate the capacity of the national response system, and also to identify aspects that need to be improved and brought up to European standards.
During the third phase of the PPRD East III program, the Ukrainian Rescue Service and other national agencies shall be working on flood response actions, demonstrating their professionalism, responsiveness and coordinated interaction.
Given the complex epidemiological situation in the world caused by the spread of coronavirus infection COVID-19, the TTX is conducted remotely using the online tools. Communication with European partners is carried out using the online platform ZOOM. The TTX will continue on May 27.
