During a working trip to the Kherson region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting on the security situation on the administrative border with the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea, as well as in the Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Mykolaiv, and Donetsk regions.
The event was attended by Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak, his deputies Roman Mashovets and Kyrylo Tymoshenko, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov, Minister of Defense Andriy Taran, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Ruslan Khomchak, Permanent Representative of the President to the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Anton Korynevych, heads of state administrations of these regions, heads of regional units of law enforcement agencies.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Head of State expressed condolences over the death of a Ukrainian soldier in Donbas as a result of the detonation of a military vehicle on an explosive device and wished a speedy recovery to the wounded.
The President said he had visited the positions of Ukrainian servicemen on the administrative border with the occupied Crimea, and noted that the defenders maintained their morale.
"Our families and children can be calm," said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council reported on the security situation on the administrative border with the temporarily occupied Crimea and in these regions.
The participants of the meeting discussed the operational situation in these regions and the readiness of the forces to respond to possible aggravation of the situation.
Head of the Kherson Regional State Administration Serhiy Kozyr reported on ensuring the security of the civilian population.
Following the meeting, the President of Ukraine instructed the NSDC Secretary to prepare a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council in the near future.
