2020 was a dificult year for the whole world. Ukrainian rescuers also had many challenges, events and victories. During these difficult and truly unforgettable 12 months, units of the State Emergency Service eliminated more than 100,000 fires, prevented the destruction of more than 28,000 buildings, destroyed more than 73,000 explosive devices, and most importantly, saved more than 1,500 lives.
The living year, rescuers performed their duties in all parts of our country: they eliminated large-scale forest fires in Luhansk, Zhytomyr, Chornobyl Exclusion Zone and Kharkiv region. They fought the consequences of floods in the Carpathian region.
At the same time, SES specialists were involved in international operations: they worked at the site of the crash of a Ukrainian plane in the Republic of Iran, and accompanied humanitarian missions to Italy and Lebanon.
Together with other structures of the system, the Ministry of Internal Affairs took measures to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. In particular, since the beginning of anti-epidemic measures, the SES has carried out special treatment of more than 121 thousand objects and more than 51 thousand km. highways.
As a result of the work of thousands of staff, rescuers of the SES were in the top three in the ranking of citizens' trust in state and public institutions - 64% of Ukrainians trust the Service!
The coming year is, of course, preparing new challenges and tests for the Service, but rescuers are convinced that in 2021 they will successfully cope with all tasks - will adequately and professionally protect Ukraine and its people from emergencies and dangerous events!
