On December 26, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine has got 52 pieces of equipment on the total amount more than 95 million Yuan in the framework of the implementation of Free Assistance Project to the Government of Ukraine from the Government of the People's Republic of China. Today, the Parties have signed the relevant Act of acceptance and transfer of the project of providing emergency and rescue equipment at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov said that this is the second joint project between the Ministry of Interior Affairs of Ukraine and China.
“I would like to thank both the Ambassador and the leadership of the People's Republic of China. We met for the first time in 2016, when you transferred the first batch of equipment, which was very useful to our specialists. Today, we have the second joint project, when you are transferring 52 pieces of equipment on 95 million Yuan. We are updating the entire rescue vehicle park and equipment that comes from China, which we will use in a systematic manner to modernize our forces”, - the Minister said.
In his turn, the Head of the SES of Ukraine Mykola Chechotkin noted that the engineering equipment transferred under the previous Project was used during clearing of rubbled living houses, as well as during the elimination of emergencies related to rubbles, building destruction and large-scale transport accidents. At the same time, the electrical and pumping equipment have provided uninterrupted power supply to the infrastructure and have been involved in the elimination of the effects of flooding of living houses.
“Today we have got the much-needed fire truck hoists and ladders, car cranes, bulldozers and graders. All of them will allow to partially replacing that vehicles, which are the most physically and morally outdated. The received equipment will be transferred to the territorial units and will significantly increase the level of their ability and efficiency during emergency operations, as well as the elimination of the consequences of emergencies”, - the Head of the SESU said. “I hope that you have seen in the name of the SESU a reliable partner and our cooperation will continue and will be strengthened”, - he added.
