The Deputy Head of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine Ruslan Biloshytskyi has held a working meeting with the representatives of the Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance of the Federal Republic of Germany (BBK).
The Parties summarized the results of the implementation of the second phase of the International Assistance Project “Capacity Building in the Field of Civil Protection” and discussed the results of its implementation during 2018-2019.
The participants of the meeting also touched upon the issues of planning the activities for the implementation of the third phase of the Project, which will last in 2020-2022, discussed the needs of both the material and non-financial components of the third phase of the Project to formulate an appropriate budget.
In his turn, the Deputy Head of the SESU Ruslan Biloshytskyi noted: “Thanks to your support in the implementation of the Project, the SESU has got the modern equipment, in particular, the unique Scanning Infrared Gas Imaging System SIGIS2; IT equipment for training classes and conducting of command post exercises”.
In general, during the implementation of the Project, the Ukrainian side has received material and technical values with a total amount of about UAH 33 millions. A series of regional seminars “Emergency Management” with the involvement of specialists from different ministries have been conducted too.
Ruslan Biloshytskyi expressed the gratitude to the Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance of the Federal Republic of Germany for the equipment provided, and the Project Coordinator Hero Steup said that further fruitful cooperation between the SESU and the Federal Office would be continued in future.
