Ruslan Biloshitsky thanked the representatives of the DDG and the  American donors for their assistance and noted that, since July 2014, more than 28,300 hectares of the territory and 93 hectares of the water bodies have already been cleared by the pyrotechnic units of the SES, with about 173 thousand explosive ordnance were disposed.
“However, this extremely important work has been carried out for a long time not only by the SES units and the Armed Forces, but also by non-governmental international humanitarian demining organizations, including the Danish Demining Group. I’m sure that only through common efforts we will be able to overcome the consequences of contamination of the territories with mines and other ammunition, ”said Ruslan Beloshitsky.
In her turn, Ms. Krista Zongolovich noted that Ukraine has the first place in anti-rating of victims of landmines, ahead of Syria in particular. For its organization, clearing the territory in Donbass is a top priority. Krista Zongolovich urged to implement the Mine Action Law as soon as possible, including the creation of a Mine Action Center and local mine action departments.

Currently, the SES together with the Danish Refugee Council and the Danish Demining Group is implementing a joint project “Training and engaging

The main activities under this project are joint clearance of more than 146 hectares of Lugansk territory by SES units and DDG teams, holding of trainings on international methods for about 130 SES specialists and material and technical equipment of 6 pyrotechnic crews of the Service.
