On July 25, Deputy Head of the Service Ruslan Biloshitsky met with representatives of several projects, donated by the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany. The meeting was preceded by an assessment mission that took place in Ukraine on July 22, during which representatives of the Government of Germany got acquainted with the activities of the SESU units and local fire brigades in Donetsk region, as well as with the work of the Mobile Rescue Center of the Rapid Response in Kyiv region.
Ruslan Biloshitsky noted the results, that were achieved in the framework of the previous project "Support for Ukraine in Emergency Situations", implemented by the German International Cooperation Association GIZ.
"The main purpose of this project was to strengthen the capabilities of the SESU, in particular, by improving the material and technical base of the Service, training personnel and carrying out joint activities. The provision of units, that perform tasks in the Eastern regions of Ukraine, has significantly improved thanks to equipment received. The rescuers themselves have also become more protected", Ruslan Biloshitsky said.
The Deputy Head of the Service thanked the partners for the successful long-term cooperation and the opportunity to continue cooperation in the framework of the new project, that is currently being developed.
In turn, GIZ representatives have noted the need to create a stable system in the context of decentralization, which would works well at the local, regional and national levels.
" Within the framework of the new project, we will try to convey our experience in order to synchronize these three components of the system. The SESU must be the coordinator and the executor of the leading role in it ", - said the head of the previous project " Support for Ukraine in Emergency Situations" Christian Poshmann.
In addition, during the meeting, the participants also discussed the possibility of training for firefighters of united territorial communities on the basis of the training center of the SES, the issue of improving the Training Point with the necessary material and technical base, discussed the structure of the new project and the procedure for the participation of the Mobile Rescue Center of the Rapid Response of the SES of Ukraine.
