International command-and-staff trainings for responding to an accident with a large number of victims started in Kyiv

On February 19, International training on reacting to an accident involving the action of chemicals and with a lot of victims, organized by the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (United States of America), were launched on the basis of the Institute of Public Administration in the field of Civil Protection.

Participation in the exercises is taken by specialists of the SES of Ukraine, Ministry of Health, National Police, National Guard, Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, etc.

Participants are divided into two teams - "players" who actively participate in the discussion or perform their tasks and responsibilities, and initiate responses to the simulated emergency situation, and "observers" that provide support in handling responses of players by providing thematic information.

Thus, according to the legend of command-and-staff training, a sudden explosion occurred at the newly opened National Agrochemical Company. At this time, the company hosted several hundred visitors who went on an excursion. Many people were injured in various degrees of severity and were affected by agrochemicals. In addition, the explosion provoked a large-scale fire, and the area of the company was tightening the incoming smoke.

So, having received inputs, the participants within two days must fulfill the tasks concerning:

In general, two-day training will be conducted in a multimedia mode with the participation of a moderator with work in groups and discussions. Players will also participate in the development of modules: "Initial Reporting and Response", "Current Activity", "Summarizing Response" and "Post-Emergency Recovery".
