The pyrotechnical units of the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Donetsk region clear the territory of the region from ammunition. However, a significant part of the Donetsk oblast is still contaminated with explosive objects. In 2017, civilians were killed by mines, in 2018 – 4 civilians. At the beginning of 2019, 2 men were killed by grenade exploded in Mariupol. That’s why the mine risk education is of the primary importance. The rescuers continue informing the population about the danger of explosive remnants and mines by means of posters, brochures, leaflets, etc.
On February 7, the rescuers of Donetsk oblast received mine risk education banners from the International Committee of the Red Cross. They would be redeployed to the rescuer units in order to be placed on the billboards around the Donetsk region.
Representatives of the Red Cross in Ukraine have been maintaining close cooperation with the Head Department of SESU in Donetsk oblast foe a long time. Representatives of the Head Department expressed their gratitude for the equipment provided and look forward to further fruitful cooperation.
