Cooperation between the Lviv State University of Life Safety and the Estonian Academy of Security Sciences
In accordance with the bilateral agreement on cooperation between the Lviv State University of Life Safety and the Estonian Academy of Security Sciences (Tallinn, Estonia), within the framework of the international project "Support to the Ukrainian Emergency Situations Service in the system of training in the field of humanitarian demining" a training for humanitarian demining specialists took place. The event took place during June 3-7, 2019 in the premises of the demining center of the Rescue Department of Estonia. Participation in the event was taken by cadets in the "Civil Security" specialty (specialization "Engineering support for engineering, pyrotechnic and explosive works"), as well as representatives of the Department of Civil Protection and computer modeling of eco-geophysical processes.

From 13 to 17 May, in Częstochowa city, Poland, the OPCW Technical Secretariat (the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons) held a “Training Course on Sampling and Analysis of Substances in an Extremely Polluted Environment”.
Representatives from countries such as Argentina, Bangladesh, Brazil, Bulgaria, Burundi, Colombia, Costa Rica, Italy, Kenya, Nigeria, Panama, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Jordan and Ukraine took part in the course.
Rescuers check the readiness for intended actions
Specialists of the Rescue Service carry out comprehensive work on prevention of emergencies of various kinds every day, as well as check the readiness of the units for the intended actions. In particular, rescuers take part in command post and tactical exercises and trainings.
International Mine Awareness Day in Mariupol
The United Nations' International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action is observed on April 4 each year. This day aims to raise awareness about landmines and progress toward their eradication. "Mine action" refers to a range of efforts to clear landmines and explosive remnants of war and to mark and fence off dangerous areas. It also includes assisting victims, teaching people how to remain safe in a mine-affected environment, advocating for universal participation in international treaties related to landmines, explosive remnants of war and their victims, and destroying landmines stockpiled by governments and non-state armed groups.
SES urges citizens not to provoke fires in natural ecosystems!
Rescuers remind that the careless handling of fires, multiplied by weather conditions that are dangerous for ecosystems, in most cases can lead to catastrophic consequences. And the fact that the main cause of the occurrence of fires in open areas is the human factor - it can easily be confirmed by impressive statistical indicators. Only from the beginning of March already we have 7 219 incidents of fires in open territories and in natural ecosystems!
Ukrainian rescuers are preparing for large-scale international exercises WEBER RESCUE DAYS
This summer, on June 19-22, the large-scale international exercises WEBER RESCUE DAYS will be held in the village of Horodyshche at the training area of the Main Department of the SES of Ukraine in Rivne oblast. Ukraine will host these exercises for the first time, and, aware of its responsibilities to international colleagues, the rescuers of the SESU are already getting ready to take part in the event.
The rescuers of Donetsk Region return on prevention of fires in natural ecosystems
The first warm and sunny spring days have brought the first fires in open areas in Donetsk Region. The firefighters have already extinguished several fires in ecosystems. However, despite the numerous warnings of rescuers about the danger of burning of leafy and coniferous litter, people continue to do it in the gardens, orchards, and yards.
